Hello 2017
January 3rd, 2017
A belated Merry Christmas to you all and a Happy New Year.
We hope you all had a good Christmas season filled with love, joy, laughter and lots of presents.
2016 has been a tumultuous year politically and socially but we don't want to dwell on those issues, instead we'd like to take a nostalgic look back at what the last 12 months have been like here at Matse, and also how the next 12 are hopefully going to shape up.
First of all before we start, we'd like to say thank you to everyone who has supported us this last year. Whether it was through your enquiries, or interaction with us on social media we are very grateful for all your support.
We hope you continue on our journey with us in 2017 & make this year even better than the last.
So, on with a look back to 2016 that would make the ghost of Christmas past jealous.
2016 was a busy year for us here at Matse, our dedicated founder Chris has been all over the country to countless different Home Shows to engage and interact with both the Homebuilding industry and customers alike.
Chris’ work ethic is even more impressive when you also know he works all the hours as a builder during the week. We honestly don't know how he does it. (We suspect coffee or maybe sugar)
Our first show was in June at the National Self Build & Renovation Centre (NSBRC) we always really enjoy our time at the NSBRC due to the incredible people who are always on hand with helpful tips and advice for anyone thinking of starting their own project. We also have a permanent base for our Matse within the NSBRC located at Stand 100 (if you pay a visit, pop by & have a look) The summer show is a fantastic event that gives potential home builders an idea of how their dreams can become a reality, it also allows us to show existing home owners how a Matse can make the most of their unused/small space.
This year we started to use social media platforms more and have greatly enjoyed interacting with others in the industry, local area (shoutout to Devon Hour) and members of the general public.
Competitions have been abundant this year at Matse from Flip Flops to Towels we've given it all away. Congratulations again to this year's winners :
Kimberly Howes

We loved sending out your prizes and hope you've enjoyed them.
Fast forward to september and it was time for the Self Build & Design show, which was hosted by RGB building supplies and located right on our doorstep in Exeter at the West Point Area. The feedback from this show was very positive and we had lots of interest from landlords who own small studio let's, they told us they thought the Matse would solve the limited space problem studios often suffer from.
It was great to be able to spend some time with Professionals who also run their business in the Devon area just like us.
Late September and it was time for us to pack our bags and head to the big smoke or London as it's officially known. This time it was for the Home Building & Renovating Show at the Excel Centre. This is the big one, the show that has exhibitors from every corner of the UK and where you could quite easily lose yourself in the maze of different exhibits.
We enjoy the hustle and bustle + talking to so many people gives us the opportunity to gage opinion on our product and to get some feedback from fresh eyes. We are all about listening to our customers and adapting the Matse to make it the best it can be.
If you are planning on building your own home or just enjoy architecture we highly recommend a visit in 2017.
With September behind us we found ourselves back at the NSBRC for The Big Green Home Show in October.
This event is different to the others as whilst we often see ecological stands at the other shows this one is specifically focussed on how to make your home as eco friendly as possible.
It's an exciting and engaging few days that brings together some of the most advanced technology available within the Home Building industry. For us this show is about making people aware of the unused space within their homes, why move or add a full sized extension when a Matse could provide you with the extra seating & sleeping space that you crave? Majoritively we see people asking about the Matse within a loft setting but it's fully adaptable for Garages, Kitchens, Under Stairs & Wardrobes.
November/ December brought us a lovely early Christmas present in the form of the Planning Permission we'd been waiting for, what you ask are we planning? Well our very own Matse showroom. We feel that the Matse is best seen rather than just explained, it's all about touch, feel & getting a sense of how the product really functions in a real day to day setting.
So that's 2016 but what's new for 2017? It's all about the SHOWROOM, we are working hard and putting all our energy into making it sparkle and shine. At the moment it's a tad dusty, but soon enough it will be ready for its public debut. We’re looking forward to meeting lots of new customers and seeing all your friendly faces on site rather than just your voice over the phone or via your beautiful social media profile pics.
2017 will also bring lots more exciting articles, product recommendations, competitions and general happiness over both Twitter & Facebook + if you need more of a Matse fix then there's always our blog to keep you occupied.
Once again thank you for your continuing support and engagement, don't forget we are always just a tweet, comment, email or phone call away (we don't sleep, we're secretly robots). Whatever your question we will always do our utmost to answer your enquiry. So really all that's left to say is May your 2017 be Happy, Healthy & everything you want it to be.
Love Matse.
